Importing data from an application to an Excel worksheet

Hi,

I use an automated weather station to record weather information for my
area. I want to import the data from the software into an Excel spreadsheet
that I have designed, but I want each daily import to go into the same
worksheet in the right chronological sequence without creating a new sheet
each day.

The weather software has an export function which will save the information
as either a .txt file or a .xls file and is simply a save function. If I
use the name of an existing .xls file it simply overwrites the prior file
with the new data.

How can I append the new data to the old?

You can split your workbook up into multiple sheets.....one for importing new
data, and then copy it over to other(s) for manipulation/caluclation. This
can be done either manually, or by macro control.
