Importing from excel

I have a client that we are trying to import her old
contact list into outlook. I have done the steps over
and over again, when I get to the part to check the file
I want to import, it gives me a error message of :"the
required fields listed below (there are none listed) were
not tected in the file you are importing. Please add the
fields to the first row of your file and import again."

I have no clue on this one...Any suggestions?
