Importing from Excel

Hello, does anyone know if it is possible to import tasks and resources into
Project from something like Excel? I can import the tasks OK, but not
resources.

Yes. It's all described in the mapping. Look carefully at the dialog
box to find the resource tab. In Project, export the resource
information to Excel. Then emulate that data in the format of the data
that you want to import. Then import that massaged data back into a
Project file.

I picked up on this dialog, which has been helpful, and I have a related
question. I've imported Excel information into Project. Now I want to use
the original Excel file to UPDATE the Project information, especially
start/finish dates. I've set up the Task ID's as a merge key. However, the
import/merge doesn't seem to change the task dates.
Am I missing something?
