I tried it. File/open/outlook data file. Clicked OK and nothing
happened.
Clicking File>Open>Outlook Data File will bring up a windows browser window.
You then browse to the folder containing the PST you wish to add, select the
PST, and click OK.
Are we communicating I hope? I want all the personal
folders and address book (contacts) in my new email account. Not
sure what you mean by profile.
A mail profile is a container in the Windows Registry that locates your
various Outlook accounts, data stores, and services. You manipulate a mail
profile in the Mail applet of Control Panel.
Define a mail account within a profile either from the Mail applet in
Control Panel (with the E-mail Accounts button) or with Tools>E-mail
Accounts>Add a new e-mail account in Outlook. You can define multiple
accounts in the same profile that way.
Also, I set up a 2nd computer on a
network and created an outlook account with the same email as one of
the accounts (profiles?) on the first computer and want to "import"
all the folders and address book info.
For a method you can use to transfer your data from one PC to the other, see
this:
http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/backupandrestore.htm . Never export to
or import from a PST. You will lose data and possibly corrupt your mail
profile.
