Importing resources

Now I can't be the first person to ask this... so I apologise in
advance for asking an already answered question!!

How can I import resources...

a) from another project

b) from Outlook

c) so everyone in my department has the same resources they're drawing
from

Am I missing something fundamental?

Cheers!

Nick,
Perhaps the most common method for sharing resources is to set up a
common resource pool. It is nothing more than a blank project file that
only has entries on the Resource Sheet. Those resources can then be
linked to multiple project files via Tools/Resource Sharing/Share
Resources.

Methods for actually importing resources are varied. If resources are
listed in a database or spreadsheet, an import map can be used
(File/Open and then select the appropriate "files of type"). If you have
Project 2003 or above (this feature might be available with Project 2002
also), you can add resources from other sources (i.e. Outlook) using
Tools/Assign Resources).

Of course the old copy and paste method also works for sharing resources
between files if you only need to do it one time or for a few resources.

Hope this helps.
