IncludePicture path

When I select Insert > Picture > From File, and then Insert > Link To File,
the toggled field code shows "INCLUDE PICTURE ../../..<folder name>" instead
of "C:/<folder name>." Does anyone know why? The picture I am linking is in
the C:\My Pictures folder, so I know Word has room to display the complete
path.

That's because "C:/<folder name>." probably isn't the "actual"
path, especially if you're talking about the My Documents folder.
The actual path to My Documents for instance may be
"C:/Documents and Settings/Username/My Documents"
or simlar.
The My Documents folder is a special display of that folder
that you're provided with to make it easier to keep track of and
find. The operating system hides the full path to make it easier
to use.
The Insert used the full path, so it gets too long to display.

Does that help any?
