inserting merge fields from outlook calendar

Hi Am wondering if there is a way of doing a form letter, pulling some
fields from outlook contacts and calendar.

I am not sure about using information from the Calendar, but you can
certainly use Contact information. You will however have a lot more control
and choices over the data that you insert if you initiate the mailmerge from
Outlook rather than from Word.
