Inserting pictures from file -- default style of list

When I "insert pictures from file," by default the pictures are listed as
thumbnails. It's a little thing, but I prefer to see them listed as details
and imagine there's some way to change the default setting. Can anyone help
me?

Insert a picture...in the window that opens, go to views, select "details",
then insert picture.
Now the next time you insert a picture, the window that comes up will be in
the "details" view.
