Inserting slides from files

I am trying to insert 78 slides into a new presentation. I can only insert
one at a time through insert slides from files, browse, insert. What am I
doing wrong. It is taking forever to do this one slide at a time.

Are all the slides in the same file? If so, you should be able to select
multiple slides by multi-selecting the slides from each file. (Multi-select:
Shift click to select a range of slides, control click to select
non-contiguous slides.) If there is one slide in each file you want to pull,
then - Yes, you will need to do them one at a time.

You might find the interface easier to use if instead of looking at the
slide thumbnails on the Insert--> Slides from Files interface, you change to
the list view for the file. To do this, find the two buttons on the right
side of the interface just below the "Find Presentation" area. the button
with the three shapes that look like a chain sets the view to the
thumbnails. the button to its right sets it to a list of slides with a
thumbnail/preview for the most recently selected slide.

Does that help?

What version of PowerPoint are you using? There should be a button that says
"Insert All". Or you can scroll through the slides and select the ones you
want, holding down the Ctrl key and then click on "Insert".
