Installation problem

I installed Publisher 2003 on my desktop successfully,
but when I tried it on my laptop, my entire computer
froze when I was requested to give the product key. I
have repeated the process several times and always get
stopped there. Any suggestions?

Microsoft will normally provide unlimited installation support at no charge
however I found the following:

The following are criteria for Installation Support:

1.. Single desktop installation only. Hardware peripherals must be
connected directly to the computer with a cable. Network installation and
network hardware are excluded.
2.. The product setup program will not run to completion.
3.. Immediately after installation completes, odd behavior or specific
errors are experienced.
If it were mehaving that problem, I'd call MS. It's only the cost of a
long-dstance call. The worse thing they can do is to decline because it's on
a laptop. At best - they help you.

SMS there is no good or valid reason why this is happening and the issue is
unknown.
Make sure you have all the updates applied to WindowsXP and defrag your hard
drive.

I would then suggest you re-boot your laptop and disable all start-up
programs and virus programs and then install Publisher 2003.
