Congratulate me I got elected as PS Admin. I have a few users who are long
time AD users who are just added to PS presumably as enterprise resources
though I suspect that is not the case. One of them I can see in the
enterprise resource view and the other I can't see. (logged in as admin or
as myself who is in admin - checked permissions already).
For the user I can see if I go to properties and attempt to validate against
outlook sometimes it will come up with the properties and populate the
Windows Account field but it never populates the e-mail field and when I go
to save/publish it prompts me that there is something wrong with the windows
account though it does not appear to be any different than my windows account
for example.
Sometimes it just displays a message :
Project could not retrieve the Windows User Account from the address book
for "User, Name - City, State" (the display name for this user in outlook)
Try the following:
Check the spelling of the user account for the resource.
Check your network connection, and then try again.
OK
I'm able to be on this discussion group so I think the network connection is
open, and the user name is spelled correctly. The fact that it is pulling
back the correct display name to show in the error message proves that the
stupid thing is getting to the correct Outlook account.
During the few times when I have been able to get the username corrected
(it's sporadic I have no idea why) I save/publish but when I go back into
Enterprise Resource View the same information that was there before (no
Windows AD user or e-mail address that I had added and tried to save).
I have compared my user info and my broken user's info in the resource
information dialog. With the exception of the missing e-mail address and
missing Windows Account everything else looks ok. (First. Last) workgroup
default, booking type committed, type Work.
I've been fighting with this thing for several weeks and would really
appreciate some assistance. I read the S Williams thread and tried what was
there to no avail.
Thanks,
