I'm not aware of any way to do that, and in any case I'd suggest exteme
caution in actually allowing it if someone does have a way. One of the
things that can be a disaster to any project is scope creep, unmanaged
growth of the plan. Once the plan has been created and published, ANY
change and certainly the addition of any tasks, should go through a formal
change management and approval process with sign-offs by the Project
Manager, the Project Sponsor (the member of senior managment that the PM
reports to on project related matters), and perhaps the Project Stakeholders
(depending on the impact of the change). If it is a change that impacts the
project scope, it may need a formal budget impact study, cost/benefit and
ROI analysis and the preparation of a formal business case to support it.
IF a suggested task addition is approved, then and only then should the plan
be updated and the revisions published to the resources and other interested
parties. Certainly it would be appropriate to create some email forms for
people involved in the project to use to submit change requests and
suggestions if you wish, but IMHO it would be extremely poor management
practice to allow anyone besides the PM to actually add new tasks to the
plan whether through email or otherwise.
