Is there an update download for Microsoft Publishing 2001?

B

Blonde_Ambition

I have Windows XP (1st edition) which contains Microsoft Publishing 2001. I
am trying to update Windows XP with a critical update (which will prohibit
hackers from getting information off of my PC). I have tried to run the
critical update but it stops me and says "Installation Incomplete" due to the
fact that it wants me to install the disk with Microsoft Publisher 2002
(which I don't have and cannot seem to find an update for this). Can someone
out there help me, Please?

There is no Microsoft Publisher 2001, only 2000, 2002 (XP) and 2003 (well,
there is 98 but it is not germane to this discussion.)

When I looked tried to install (per the critical download for Windows XP,
SP2), it told me to put the disk in for Microsoft Publisher 2002. One of my
disks contained Microsoft Publishing 2001 setup, and the next disk contained
Publishing 2001 Photo Designs and Art. There was nothing that said Microsoft
2002 -- What do you suppose the Microsoft 2001 two items stated above are?

My computer did compete the critical download as I have it set up to do
every morning at 3 a.m. and it worked. I don't know how, but it did. Thank
you very much for answering my question. Please let me know what your
perspective is one the above paragraph.

Publishing 2001 is not an Office program, it is one of the Microsoft
consumer graphics programs such as Picture It! and Digital Imaging. What
version of Office XP were you updating and did you purchase a standalone
version of Microsoft Office Publisher?

I have Window XP SP2, Home Edition. I did purchase a standalone version of
Microsoft Publisher. Thank you for helping me to figure this problem out. I
forgot I had purchased a standalone edition, Version 2002 (and there it is).
Again, I thank you for your much appreciated help.
