JPEG not recognized

I scanned a document at work and it came across as a jpeg but my publisher
won't recognize the jpeg. any help??

1) May I congratulate you on your ability to spell the word 'scanned'. If
I read 'scaned', 'scaning' or 'scaner' one more time, I'm consigning myself
to the Calmwood Mental Hospital for the Incurably Insane.

2) How are you dealing with the JPEG? You cannot open JPEGs in Publisher,
you would need to insert picture from file. Is this what you're doing?

3) What version of Publisher and what OS? What OS are you running at
work?

4) What error do you receive when you attempt to insert the JPEG?

5) Have you tried opening it in a graphics application (even Paint would
do)?

6) Lastly (though I'm not sure if this is a case where it would be
culpable) are you running NAV?
