Leveling is skipping working days

When I level my resources, it appears working days for resources who have no
other work on a given day, are not being assigned work. I'm using a standard
schedule and it shows it as a working day but leveling is not assigning any
work to open resources. It's not consistent, it seems to be skipping
different days in the work week, especially when the schedule went into 2010.
Any ideas? Thx.

Hello hintze1,

I think you may misinterpret what the resource leveling command
does -- it is not a resource optimization tool and will not make
sure resources are assigned work every day. It solves
overallocation by delaying tasks. That's all. Resource leveling
will not reassign tasks to other resources -- I assume that is what
you mean by "open resources". Resource leveling will not change
assignment units for existing resource assignments. Resource
leveling will honor task relationships (predecessor/successor) as
well as lag or lead so it is entirely possible that leveling will
cause gaps in resource work.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
