Linking Publisher and Excel

How can I automatically import a value from an Excel spreadsheet into a
Publisher table? I'd sure like to do this for several data points.

There's no automagic way. You could write a macro to do it every time
the document is opened (provided you have an automatable version of
Publisher (2002 or later) and Excel installed).
