Links to File Folders in Appointment Items

Is it possible to insert a path to a specific file system folder into the
message body of an AppointmentItem in Outlook so that when the user clicks on
it, the file opens or Explorer opens to the specific folder indicated?

I've tried creating shortcuts to files and folders and then attaching them,
however Outlook doesn't save them. We're a project-based organization and I
would like to provide direct links to the project folders on our server so
that the users don't have to go clicking around to find the information that
pertains to a specific item on a public calendar.

Open the appointment and use the Insert button - you can Insert Files (fully
or as Hyperlinks) as well as Items and Objects.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!

No, that didn't help. I don't have any problems inserting actual files. The
problem is inserting them as links. When I click on INSERT and select the
file to insert, the INSERT button only provides me with three options:
INSERT, INSERT AS TEXT, INSERT AS ATTACHMENT. There is no option to insert as
a hyperlink.

are you sure you are doing this in an Appointment? If so let's just check
the steps:

Insert | single click a file you want to Insert | drop the arrow down beside
the Insert button (bottom right) select as Hyperlink.

If you are in fact trying to Insert in an email, change the format to rich
text first, then do as above.

Get back to me if it's still not working.

The form in question is a custom form. When I created the form, I believe
that I did a click and drag of the 'message body' or 'body' field onto the
form.

1) Is the message body for an appointment different from the message body
for a message?
2) Which field should I use? Please include the specific item type to look
for and the exact name

thx

I think you had better explain the whole scenario on the forms newsgroup and
get some advice there. Sorry I can't help you with customised forms.
