Locking Up After Running an Office App

T

Tony

Don''t know if anyone can help or not but have no other
place to go! This heppened about a week ago and won't go
away. My computer will run fine until I load up any Office
2003 app. After a few minutes of the app being loaded, my
computer gets REAL slow, the hard drive is being accessed
all the time, and CTRL-ALT-DEL will clear the screen but
will not bring up the task manager. (Win2K - Norton Int
Sec Installed). I have scanned for a virus, spy ware, etc.
and come up with nothing. I have to turn the computer off
to get it back and as long as I don't run an Office app,
it will run fine all day. All windows updates are current,
antivirus current, etc. Any suggestions? I am at a total
loss! Thanks in advance.

Tony,
Try this:
Open Norton Internet Security control panel/click Norton Anti Virus/Other category/Miscellaneous/deselect "Enable Office Plug-in"

Thanks for the reply. I did that! I have now noticed that
it also happened when I loaded Norton to disable the
Office plugin so I am thinking that it is one of the two
doing it, just don't know why! Thanks again.
