Login required randomly when opening an XLs through the Web

Hi,

I have Office 2003 installed on a Windows XP. All updates done.

I have a Web site with authentication required. I log on to the web site,
then I click on a link to an XLS. Sometimes the doc is open normally, but
sometimes it (IE? Office?) asks me for a login/password.

- If I click on cancel, I sometimes get several other popups asking for a
login/password. Then the doc is displayed normally.

- If I enter a login, the document is also displayed.

- I never get any error whether I enter logins or not.

For one document, it has asked me a login once, I have entered it, and since
it didn't asked me for a login anymore. Even after emptying my IE cache,
removing all client info from my IE, rebooting my machine.

This behaviour has occurred on previous version of Office, and each time it
has been solved by applying a service pack on the client machine. But here,
no update seems to change anything.

Any idea is really welcome !
