Hi Ron

Auto save is related to recovering files if PowerPoint crashes AFAIK, not to
actually saving your file. Anyway. What do you mean that when you tried to
make a change you lost all the other work? Had you closed it and then
re-opened it and it was all gone? Or something else?

Some things to try:
- '07 allows you to undo even after a save so if you haven't closed the file
try undoing
- some versions of Vista have a 'revert to previous version' on right click
of a file
- did you e-mail the file to anyone? If so, check your sent items
- are you sure the slides you created aren't masters rather than slides?
(view -> master -> slide master)

Ron,

Just for future reference....

When doing important work (isn't it all?) - I try to save a file using this
method

MyPresentation-v01.ppt

I do some edits... i resave using

file - save as ....

I call it

MyPresentation-v02.ppt

everytime I do something major, I up the version number... That way if a
file should get corrupted - which happens with computers, then I've not lost
everything. As I can go back a version and continue from there.

cheers
