I have moved several times and have lost my registered CD
of Office 97. Am I out of luck and going to have to
purchase a new one, or is there a way I can get a copy
since it's registered?

There is a page on Misrosoft's web site telling you how to get replacement
media.
But as Office 97 is quite old, I'm not sure if Microsoft could supply a
replacement, your best bet is probably ebay.
