Lost important email

I tried opening an email in
outlook express and my whole system crashed. I re-booted
and MS Me has started up with a user interface I must have
had
2 years ago. I am trying find my Outlook express files so
I cam find my saved email. I have tried finding my account
on my hard drive, but it doesn't show up. I can't do a
basic file search (*.aif?) but I lost that capability in
the crashy, it keeps on asking for a msoffice disk.

Please anyone..help. I have a really important email
message that I must find.
