Lost Outlook Attachment - even after saving - Please help!!

I opened an attachment from an email and have had it opened on my desktop
ever since. I have been working on the document but long since closed the
email. I have been saving teh document as I worked (thinking I was saving to
teh desktop). I have accidentally closed word today (it didn't ask if I
wanted to save the document as I had just saved it) and now can not find teh
document. I have done a complete search for files modified today but it does
not appear. Can anyone help me? Where did it save?

Zumchak,

Most likely you saved it to the Outlook Temporary File folder. The easiest
way to get it out of there is:

Open an email in Outlook that has an attachment.
Open the attachment, then go to File > Save As.
It will bring up the folder that it was opened in, which is the Outlook
Temporary folder. Mine is called OLK176. Then in that Save As dialog box, you
can find your file you were looking for, right click on it, and choose Copy.
Then Browse to where you would like to save it, and then right-click and
choose Paste.

The Outlook Temporary File folder is hidden, so you cannot find it if you
are logged on - it is located in your profile.
