Mail Merge Does Not Include All Records

O

Orion1

Using Ms Word Office XP to generate Avery 8160 mail
labels, I get only one of two pages. Using MS Word 2000
WIN 98 and same source document, I get both pages.

What might the problem be with XP?

Thanks

The most common cause of this problem is that the user
hasn't remembered to actually EXECUTE the merge to the
printer (or a new document). Are you using the toolbar or
the task pane (wizard)? If the latter, are you going to
Step 6 and clicking a link, there?

If the former, have you clicked on the button to merge to a
new document?

Thanks, you are correct in both instances. However, I am
able to view only the first page. Nonetheless, all pages
print when I followed your advice.

OK, one step further :)

You should be able to view all records as one "long"
document by clicking the button/link that executes the merge
to a new document rather than the printer. (This can then be
printed later, if you wish. Or saved. Or just closed without
saving)

And, if you're looking at the data preview, you should see
<< and >> buttons in both the Wizard and Toolbar interface
that let you flip through the records, one-by-one.

Seasons greetings and thanks again for your kind
assistance. I was able to merge to new document usint
merge tool bar as you described, but could find how to
merge to new document using merge wizard. After step 5,
preview, ihad two options in step 6: merge to printer or
edit individual records.

Kind regards
Roy

Cindy
I found the merge to new doc in merge wizard, associated
as you know with Edit Individual Records. The only think
I have not discovered is how to insert postal bar code
using merge tool bar.

Thanks again

Yeah, this is a "nasty". Word 2002/2003 simply do not
provide an interface for this. I don't understand why, but
there you go...

what you can do in this case is to use the tools from older
versions of Word. You'll find instructions in the Word 2002
section of my website. I recommend the MailMerge Helper to
set up an additional ENVELOPE merge document, using the
same data source you want for your final (labels) result.

Now COPY the barcode field this generated into the first
label of your sheet. The "Propagate Labels" to update the
rest of the label sheet.
