Make web links to spreadsheets open in Excel

A

Adam Walker

Is there a setting that can be changed to make Excel spreadsheets I open from
a webpage open in Excel by itself instead of inside my IE browser. I don't
get all the Excel menus when the spreadsheet is open in my browser.

Thank you.

Hi, Adam,

Try this:

Open My Computer
Go to Tools | Folder Options
Select the File Types tab
Find XLS file extension and select it
Click the "Advanced" button
Uncheck the "Browse in same window" checkbox
Save your changes.

That fixed it, thank you. I thought I was going insane looking everywhere
for this setting.
