Managing files using Open dialog box

I am trying to help someone solve a problem. They have Word 2002 (I don't
know their Windows version). They go to the File menu and choose Open. Within
the Open dialog box, they used to be able to drag a file in the list into
another folder, but now for some reason they can't. When I try this on my
computer, I have no problem (using Word 2003 in Windows XP). Any suggestions?
