Margin Trouble with Custom Page Size

When I try to print in Publisher using a custom page size, printer or
Publisher adds approx 1.5" to the top of my page margin, no matter what I do.
Checked the printer settings in WordPad, all looks OK. Issue does not occur
when printing on 8.5X11 page, nor does it occur in MS Word. I don't have any
extra margin set in Master Page...have tried everything I can think of.
Under deadline to print invitations and getting desperate...help! Thanks.

How are you setting up your printer? Are you saving the custom setting? Are you
setting up your printer first? What model is your printer? What version
Publisher are you using?

Version: MS Publisher 2003 (SP2)
Printer is HP 1300 LaserJet. I set it for manual feed (there's a tray on
top of the regular tray that's used for manual paper), heavier paperstock.
Saved the print task with its own name...didn't change paper size from
"letter" because it doesn't allow me to custom size in the set up window. As
I noted, when I do this in MS Word, not an issue...only for Publisher...so
could this still be a printer issue?
I also tried to check the printer defaults using WordPad as was suggested to
some other posts in this discussion group, WordPad lets me set the margins at
0 all around and doesn't auto re-adjust them to anything...?

I've owned many HP LaserJet's, everyone will allow a custom size paper setting
in the print properties. Do crop marks print?
