Merged projects resource graph??

T

Tricky

I have merged two projects in MSP 2003 (using window/new window) that contain
the same resource names, however MSP is not giving me an ’all up’ resource
number based on the sum of both projects.

What it does give me is the resource graph twice based on the individaul
data for each project, but not a combined total/graph.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a totalised graph, and if so how?

Also when i click in a specific activity row i get the total resource graph
for that project, and not just that particular task. What do i need to change
in the set up to get MSP to show that tasks resource graph.

thanks

Hi Tricky,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

This depends upon how you merged the files. You would do best with a
resource pool file and then a master file into which you insert your
projects. Full details of this are in my series on Microsoft Project in the
TechTrax ezine, particularly #17 & 18 on multiple projects, at this site:
http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc or this:
http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMFrame.asp?CMD=ArticleSearch&AUTH=23
(Perhaps you'd care to rate the articles before leaving the site, :)
Thanks.)

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
