I recently downloaded Microsoft Office 2007 over an existing 2000. It did
not convert my files?? The message it gives me is there is a virus, but I
don't believe that's true. I think it is a compatibility issue. How can I
get my files back? The two programs I checked was Word and Excell. Help
please.

Word 2000 files can be opened in Word 2007 (same for Excel)
So that is not the problem
Have you activated Office?
Can you take a file to another computer and do a virus check then try to
open it?
