Microsoft publisher document Locked up?

I have a document that has alot of text that somehow got locked up and I
can't make changes to it. I can't copy it and don't want to lose all of the
work.
Any suggestions?

What version of Publisher are you using and is the version of publisher
currently activated? If it is a trial the trial version has expired and you
will need to purchase a retail version to continue to work on your document.
If it is a retail version then what happens when you click Help, Activate?
