Microsoft Works 2003 or Microsoft Office 2000 Pro?

My computer came with Microsoft Works 2003 (includes Microsoft Word 2002). I
have a need for other Office programs, so I purchased Microsoft Office 2000
Pro. Should I just uninstall all of Works & install all applications from
Office? I could keep Works with Word 2002 & install everything from Office
except Word 2000 & stay with my newer 2002 version. Am I better off one way
or the other? Any thoughts on what Word version (2000 or 2002) is better? I'm
running Windows XP Home. Thanks.

Personal preference but since Office 2000 is no longer supported you may
want to keep that in mind when you make your decision.

If you have both Word 2002 and Office 2000 then you'll need to update
both and maintain the installation CDs for both. And you'll need to
pay close attention when updating if prompted for the installation CDs
since it could be asking for either.

As for whether you should keep Word 2002 that's up to you. Personally
I'd install all of Office 2000 (including Word) and keep the Word 2002
installation. But I'd only recommend that based on your comfort level
since there are a few minor issues you could encounter. Such as the
Windows Installer will surface if you switch Word versions, you could
encounter problems with the Office Assistant, etc.

Note if you do not install Word 2000 then you will be unable to use it
as the email editor in Outlook or initiate a mail merge from Outlook.
