Milestones delay entering

Hi
I can track tasks in MS P 2000.
But I have no idea how to enter the
delay of a milestone.
Somehow I can't get it to work.
Any help?

Hi,

What exactly do you mean?
The Actual date? The newly scheduled date?
Delay vs. baseline will be calculated by Project.

Hi
thanks for the quick response.
I mean both actually.
I have the situation where I want to delay a milestone and show it.
And I have the situation where the current milestone is delivered
a day later or so.

Hi,

As for actual values: Select, put to 100% complete (there are different
ways), then enter the actual date in the start field
If it is delayed, normallu-y that would be calculated automatically from the
dely of the driving tasks. But if it isn't use a constraint (start not
earlier then or Must Start On)

It's still not clear what you mean by "delay a milestone." Milestones are
events that mark some important status change in the project. As such, they
are calculated by the schedule of the activities leading up to it. If I'm
painting a room I might have a milestone "prep work complete." The date
that occurs is calculated from the time it takes to do all the steps in the
prep work. If it's occuring too soon (though the idea of 'finishing too
soon' seems strange to me), I can delay it by scheduling more time for the
various prep tasks. If I have an event "proposal submitted for approval"
(likely a milestone in its own right) followed by another milestone
"go-ahead received" and I need to delay the approval milestone for 2 weeks
to allow for the time it takes them to make a decision, I can do that by
putting a 2 week lag time in the link between the "submit" and the
"approved" milestones.

I might be mistaken, but I have a similar question regarding this.
I have set a baseline, and I would like to display the baseline milestone
dates as well as the schedule milestone dates on the Gantt, and therefore
show the delay in my milestones.
I can put the baseline task bars in the Gantt without problem, but if you
follow the same process for displaying the milestones it does not work....

How can I graphically compare the Baseline and Schedule Milestones?
Thanks
