Missing email

B

Barb Nolley

For several months now, I have been having a problem with
not receiving all of my email. Many, many times, I have
learned that someone sent me an email, yet I never received
it. Also, emails I send are sometimes not received.

I have a small LAN and WLAN and my husband, who sits three
feet away, always seems to get his email. I have taken to
having him copied on anything important and he always seems
to get his copy, but I frequently don't get mine.

I have tried eliminating every possible cause I could think
of, including the following:

1 - My system: The problem also occurred when I used my
laptop to receive email, instead of my desktop.

2 - My wireless connection: I plugged an Ethernet cable
from my PC to the hub. The problem still occurred.

3 - It's not a filter problem, since I receive SOME emails
from different email source addresses, just not ALL emails.
Plus, my husband receives copies from the same source, when
I don't receive my copy.

4 - Winproxy: I run WinProxy on a PC attached to satellite
modems. I uninstalled WinProxy and tested another similar
product called SatServ and the problem still occurred.

5 - The satellite connection: Again, my husband, sharing
the same connection, receives all his email.

6 - MTU size - I have set the MTU size down to 1200 bytes
on the access point/switch on the LAN. And, again, my
husband, plugged into the same switch that I access
wirelessly and is therefore using the same MTU size,
doesn't have a problem.

I tried a repair of Outlook and that didn't seem to help. I
have also spent hours search on the Internet for possible
causes, but to no avail.

Help! I am totally out of ideas and this is very important.
I run a small business and I know that I have already lost
potential business because of this.

Thanx for any suggestions you can provide,

Barb Nolley
