Missing Folders

My husband is using outlook 2000. He went to work with
a "outlook today" he right clicked and accidentally
clicked on "close personal folders". When he did this
all the folders he created under outlook today
disappeared. I've tried to look for them but can't find
them. All I have are very old backup files.

When I click on move message (for example), and click on
the folder list, the folder names still appear as a list,
but all the messages he saved and the actual folders are
no longer visible.

Does anyone know how to correct this and get his folders
and messages back?

Appreciate anyone's help.
Thanks

Do a search on your PC for a file, *.pst

That file holds EVERYTHING in outlook. It will be in a
hidden folder location, so you will have to change your
folder (windows) view options to see the file. Then you
will have to point your Outlook profile to where that
*.pst file is...

If you are using Windows 2000 or XP, turn on searching hidden and system
folders and then look for .pst files with a recent date. Once you locate
it, note the path. Then, in Outlook, use File->Open->Personal Folders File
(or Outlook Data File).
