Move tasks to resources that are free

W

WSH

Hello,

The subject says it all really. I want to be able to see all tasks assigned
to all resources. If a resource is free such as a day for example, I want to
be able to move a task that only takes a day to complete to that resource
straight away without any problems. Is this possible?

Any help is appreciated!

Yes, but you have to do it yourself, Project can't do it for you.

Hello Mike,

Thanks for the reply. How do you see that a resource is free and then move a
task to them?

Hi,

In Resource Usage add the line Remaining availability.
Then... well sorry you doin't move a task to a resoruce you assign a
resource to a task..

You're welcome, WSH :)

You could use the Task Usage view, filtered for the resource. Or you could
use the Resource Usage view. Or you could use the Resource Graph view. Not
doubt there are other views you could use too! Look for free time for the
particular resource and move an appropriate task to that time.
