I'm trying to move contacts from my home OUtlook 2003 to my work Outlook 2000
without much luck. It won't recognize the PST file

That's because Outlook 2003 has introduced a new Unicode .PST format that is
incompatible with older versions of Outlook. All is not lost, however --
you can create a .PST file in the old format and then copy that to Outlook
2000. Create a new .PST file via File | New, and choose the Outlook 97-2002
format. It will open in your folder list. Create a new contacts folder in
that .PST file. Switch to your original Contacts folder and change the view
to By Category. Select all items and right-click and drag them to the new
Contacts folder -- choose Copy from the popup menu. Now you can close this
new .PST file out of Outlook (right click the root folder and choose Close)
then copy that file to Outlook 2000. Open it in Outlook 2000 via File |
Open | Personal Folders File.
