multi-user problems

I have a couple of questions, open to anyone:

I work for an NGO, we have a server, not Project Server, just a general
intra-office network. Is it possible to use MS Project 2003 Standard
and our own network to access one file? In other words, is there any
possible way Standard can be used in a multi-user network environment,
without having to upgrade to Pro and the Project Server?

Hi LynnaeEtta,

Sorry, only one person can have the project file open in edit mode at a
time. Other users will be able to open the file but in read-only mode.

If possible, you may wish to consider breaking a larger project file into
smaller separate files and then consolidating the project file back
together. This would allow each PM to have his/her project file open and
make changes but still give you the "big picture" through the consolidated
(master) project file.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

That's the same for Project Server. When someone opens a project in edit
mode its checked out so none else can edit it at the same time.
