My shapes show in Print preview but do not print?

When I add an auto shape it shows in print preview but will not print. I'm
thinking that I have something in my Word Options that isn't selected but for
the life of me I can't figure out what it is and Word help just doesn't do it
for me. If anyone has any tips I could try it would be greatly appreciated.

If they really show in Print Preview but don't print, then there may be a
problem with the printer. But if in fact you're referring to Print Layout
view rather than Print Preview, then make sure you have "Drawing objects"
checked on the Print tab of Tools | Options or (in Word 2007, which it
sounds as if you may have) "Print drawings created in Word" in Office Button
| Word Options | Display: Printing options.
