My Start and End dates not re-calc when Resource % changes

A

Alan D. Ayers

I have Project 2003. I changed the % a resource is available then assigned
that resource to a task and the task start and finish dates do not get
re-calc'd.

Hi Alan,

When you initally assign the resource, Project will calculate the work
for the resource based upon the following formula:

Duration * Units assigned = Work

You will only see the start and finish dates (and duration) change if
you change the assignment units after the initial assignment.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Alan...

Additionally... if the 'Task Type' is set to 'Fixed Duration' then you will
not see the duration and/or dates move.

To see the task type of an activity...
Double click on the activity - Advanced Tab - Task Type
-OR-
Insert the 'Type' Column into your schedule

To see the default task type...
Tools-Options-Schedule-Default Task Type

Good Luck.
