My Tasks not disappearing

I have at least one user that even when they set the "Current" tasks
option they still see tasks that are 100% complete that finished back
in late 2008. The task was approved by the pm and when I open the
published version of the project plan it shows those assignments as
100% complete. We have fairly large project plans and resources are
contributing on numerous projects at the same time so the My Tasks is
getting slower by the week.

Any thoughts on what I should look at?

Thanks in advance. Nick

Hi Nick, not sure what your actual problem is, but you can hide the task
simply by not publishing it... In the project, insert the column "publish"
and set it to No for the relevant tasks. Publish the project and the task
will disappear.

I think you nailed the problem.

The My tasks control is annoying with its presets and assumptions. Completed
assignments only disappear from it once they are outside of the "current"
window (which you set from server settings, default is +/- 10 days, I think).

To get completed tasks to disappear from the my tasks -list, you have to
either
a) set the tasks' "is published" -flag to no, like Ben said or
b) set the resource booking type to "proposed"

You can have a macro do the task flagging for completed tasks when you save
a project. The B option you should do manually when you close a project after
it's finished and/or canceled.

Hope that helps,
- Jussi
