need help setting up outlook

just started office 2003 ...it gives me an error saying unable to open
default email folders..tells me what to do..then i hit ok and outlook closes
without allowing me to follow instructions.i have delted and reinstalled
outlook without any success...

Create a new mail profile - Control Panel->Mail Icon->Profiles->New. Do not
copy your old one as it is corrupt.

I did not try to copy or create anything. When I first opened outlook it
instantly gave me that message. Now I cannot create a new profile at all.
It gives me the message telling me to create the profile. Then when I click
ok in the error box it instantly shuts down microsoft outlook and won't let
me create the new profile. I have even deleted and reinstalled outlook.

That's what I'm saying it won't allow me to get to the control panel. The
instant I start outlook it gives me the error. It won't allow me to do
anything but click ok on the error. Once I click ok on the error it closes
outlook totally. It will not allow me to get to the control panel or any
other part of outlook. I know how to create a new profile, but it will not
allow me access to create the new profile.

DON'T START OUTLOOK!!!!! Jeez! Where did I ever say to open Outlook to
open Control Panel?

Open up control panel FIRST - set up your profile. How would you expect
Outlook to work if you have not set up a mail profile??

I apologise for the misunderstanding. I was assuming the control panel being
referred to was the control panel within outlook. I never understood it was
referring to the actual control panel. If this had been made more clear I
could have resolved this issue long ago. Thank you very much for your help.

I'm new to office and outlook I had absolutely no clue. That is why I was so
