Need to cut down on multiple copies of same page

I run a school and we use Publisher to create worksheets. These worksheets
are assembled into books. If we need to change something on one of the
worksheets, we currently have to go hunting for all occurrences of the
worksheet in all the books we have created, making the same change multiple
times. It's very time consuming.

Is there any way to create a book by just having a "pointer" to a specific
page in another location so that there is just one copy of any given page?

Don,

I probably didn't explain myself well enough. "Multiple copies" sounds like
I'm printing things out but my question has nothing to do with printing. We
run a school and put together a new curriculum (i.e. new Publisher document)
each semester, but we use the same basic pages. This has resulted in
multiple copies of the same page in multiple documents. I only want one copy
of each page to exist so that when I change it, I only have to change it in
one place. Is there a way for a document to have a POINTER to a page that
exists somewhere else rather than reproducing the page in the new document
and perpetuating all these copies of the same thing?

I'll try to give an example. I have a file called farm.pub with 10 pages in
it, all relating to farm animals. I have a file called colors.pub with 10
pages in it, all relating to colors. Then I have a file called beginner.pub
which is actually a compilation of a bunch of pre-existing pages: one is
page 3 from farm.pub and another is page 4 from colors.pub. Finally I have a
file called games.pub which is also a compilation of pre-existing pages. It
also has page 3 from farm.pub and page 4 from colors.pub. Now, I notice that
there is a mistake on page 4 from colors.pub. I have to go fix the mistake
in 3 different places (if I even find them all).

I hope I've explained the problem a little more clearly! Thanks in advance
for any help.

You can do what you describe in Word but I do not believe you can do it
in Publisher.

In Word you embed files. look at Word help.
