New document opens in Word with blue background.

I have tried the 'NO FILL' command - no response. It is possible to make the
background 'white' each time a new document is opened.

Go to Tools|Options, General.
Look for the option for Blue Background, white text and remove the check.
The next time you open a new document, if it's still Blue, you may need to
locate and change the same option in your Normal Template.
