Nit of a problem

I installed Outlook 2003 on two computers (don't get alarmed - I can do so
on up to three computers). On one computer, when I open Outlook, I can wait
FOREVER for it to contact the POP server to download messages. On the other,
within five or so seconds, Outlook shows activity at the bottom (is it the
Status Bar?) and downloads any messages on the server. Both installations
(Options) SEEM the very same, but, obviously, they're NOT. Any help is
appreciated. As I said, this is a minor inconvenience, but I'd like to
correct it.

Does that computer (the one that takes FOREVER to connect) have any other
connection problems?

If you try PINGing the POP3 server from that workstation does it show the
same delay?

OK here're the stats: From the computer that takes FOREVER:

85 Ms Min, 118 Ms Max, 94 Ms Avg

From the computer that connects within a second or so:

84 Ms Min; 109 Ms Max, 91 Ms Avg.

But, remember, these readings were simply snapshots and will vary. The first
time I pinged the POP3 server from the "fast connecting" computer, the Avg
was 108 Ms and because I thought I had recorded the Max incorrectly, I
pinged again and got the slightly "better" numbers as shown above.
