No Set Duration

Does anyone know if it's possible to link a task to the beginning of one task
(start to start) and the end of a different task (end to end) and allow the
duration to be worked out automatically. Using Project 2000 - when I try
this only one dependency (end to end) seems to take effect - ie the task
duration is kept constant. Is there a way I can set this up so that the
duration can change if the start date of one task or the end date of the
other changes?
