No shapes when opening

I created a network diagram in Visio 2003 Pro. My Shapes sheet had all the
network shapes like computers and monitors, Servers, Active Directory
Objects, etc. Now when I open this drawing my shapes sheet is empty. I
have to go to Files ->Shapes -> Network and reopen each shape sheet every
time I open this drawing.

I have created new Network Diagrams since and the shapes always stay in
those diagrams. What do I have to do to get the shape sheets to stay in
this document?

consider opening file=> properties and make sure "save workspace" is
checked.

Have your looked at the layers' visibility ?
Is there a shape in front of them ?
Do they maybe have the colour of the background ?

There a probably more possibilities, but I don't find them back on this forum.

All my labels appear to be enabled. I can see the shapes window fine and
when I add the shape groups I can see those fine as well. It does not
appear to be a problem of hiding.

Never mind, I found where it was.

You need to do a Save As and on the Save button there is a drop arrow that
has an option to check or uncheck the Workspace option.

Real intuitive isn't it.

I answered without trying to fully understand your problem. A shape sheet
does exist in Visio, it is not the same thing as a stencil with masters.
The official name is "drawing page".

Is your problem solved now by checking the Workspace option ? I cannot
reproduce your problem by unchecking it.
