No warning when changing external predecessor

I find that if I am working in my schedule and another project manager has
her project schedule open at the same time, my milestone change (which is an
external predecessor for her) will change her dates without any notice to
her. I find this dangerous and unworkable. How can I prevent this?

stormscribe,
Verbal communication. Linking Project files is a great tool for keeping
everybody's plan current but there is still no substitute for human
contact.

There are probably methods that can be used (I'm thinking of a change
Event macro) to alert another user to a pending updates and of course
there are written communication tools (e.g. e-mail notification) that
are available but these still won't prevent changes.

This probably isn't the answer you were hoping for but a schedule worth
its salt is going to be dynamic.

Ick! You mean *talk* to my colleagues?

Actually, I am pursuing the change event solution - should be fun.
