non-responding error message

I have been hoping that Outlook would open and work like it has but all day
long it has been "no respond" with the funny little blue doughnut......how
can i get back to work?

Bring up Task Manager, and in running processes close any instances of
outlook.exe, and if that doesnt do it use Office Diagnostics
