Notifying recources via email

MS Project 2003 Standard.

I created a project and assigned resources. Now I need to contact the
resources about their assigned tasks - it appears I can send the assigned
task as an attachment file or attachment pic (or print the whole chart to
pdf) - I would like to be able to send an email notification with the
specific task and schedule - as text in the email - and better yet - with an
attachment with the deadline as an Outlook calendar appointment. - So far I
have not been able to locate a proper means to communicate to the team what
their task and deadline is - can someone please let me know if a text
message with details can be generated for each resource -

thanks.

hi,

You need MS Project Server for the solution. With Project Server, to
collaborate with your team, you can publish assignment and project
information from Microsoft Office Project 2003 to Microsoft Office Project
Server 2003. Your team members can then view that information in Microsoft
Office Project Web Access 2003, the Web-based user interface they use to view
and work with Project Server 2003.

When team members update information about their assignments on Project
Server, the project manager can view and respond to this updated information
from Project or from Project Web Access 2003 and incorporate it into the
project schedule in Project.

Haris

Project Web Access also can be set up to integrate with Outlook, so resources
can receive and report on their assignments from within their Outlook
calendar.
