I had heard, the professional version of Office XP allowed
up to 3 users before additional licenses were needed. How
can I get this confirmed? And, does it apply to Office
2003 as well? Thanks for your help!

Sorry, but you heard wrong. The licence for *ALL* versions of Office (apart
from OEM and STE) is one desktop and one laptop, on the proviso that: -

1) They are not in simultaneous use
2) They are for the sole - and exclusive - use of the licencee.

How
can I get this confirmed?

You can't because it's completely untrue.

And, does it apply to Office
2003 as well?

Nope. It applies to Office 2003 STE only. The STE is the standard version
(Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and *NO* *OTHER*.

Please be a bit more specific. Do you mean installations or users as in
